We are excited to bring you the latest advance in personal health information management. The Patient Portal will allow you to access portions of your health information 24/7. The following services can be provided using the Patient Portal:

  • Viewing appointments.
  • Viewing and printing portions of your medical record.
  • Sending messages to clinical staff at DFMC or BRHC.
  • Viewing and printing of lab and radiology results.
  • Transferring portions of your medical record to your physician.
  • Receive a summary of recent events.

Please note that the Portal is not to be used for emergency communications or services. Any emergent condition should be seen by urgent care, emergency department or 911. There will be no requests for prescriptions or refills.

Sign up is easy! Just follow the link and create an account through our "Self Enrollment" page. Please note that you must have a valid (non work related) email account.

Technical Requirements

Any internet browser will work with the Health Portal. If you have problems accessing the Health Portal, our staff cannot assist in making changes to the user's network settings or perform any troubleshooting on your device. You should refer to the owners' manual for your device or other support services, offered by your device manufacturer.

Downloading Your Health Summary

You may download your Health Summary to a folder on your personal computer. Your Health Summary contains sensitive information. If you download your Health Summary, You are responsible for protecting and deciding with whom to share this information. To protect your health information, enter a password that will be used by you to access your Health Summary on your computer.

To Download your Health Summary, follow these steps:

  1. Select the Download button and save the health record summary files to a folder on your computer.
  2. Select the Health Summary zip folder you have downloaded and extract the files for viewing. Please note that not all computer operating systems support extracting password protected (encrypted) zip files. Software packages such as WinZip and 7-Zip may be used to extract your files if your operating system does not extract this zip file properly.
  3. Enter the password you have defined.
  4. To view your Health Summary, select the HealthSummary.html file. This file is no longer protected and must be deleted after use to protect your information.


Who is eligible to enroll in the Patient Health Portal?

You as the patient (adult) are the only one allowed access to your protected health information. Parents may obtain their children's protected health information if they are under the age of 18, unless designated by court of law as an emancipated minor, and in the case of divorce, have legal custody/rights to the minor child. In order to access records on behalf of another person, you and the “proxy” must come to the appropriate Medical Records Department with the proper ID and sign an authorization or provide legal documentation (for example, durable healthcare power of attorney).

What information do I need to initially enroll in the Health Portal?

You must have a valid, non-work related, email address. A first time user ID and password will be sent to you for login purposes.

What lab results can I view on the Health Portal?

You can view any lab result as long as it is not considered a "sensitive" result. Sensitive results would be any communicable diseases such as HIV or STD's. Pregnancy tests are also considered sensitive. To obtain copies of these records, you must come to the Medical Records Department and sign an authorization.

What should I do if I see a discrepancy or information that is not up-to-date on the Health Portal?

Please use the "Contact Us" and we will review and verify your information and make the necessary updates to your medical record.

How can I obtain a copy of my entire medical record?

To obtain a copy of your entire medical record, you can come to the appropriate Medical Records Department during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. You are required to bring a copy of your current ID and sign an authorization form.

What information do I need if I would like to transfer records to my healthcare provider?

In order to transfer portions of your medical record to your healthcare provider, you will need his/her E-health address. You must call your physician's office to obtain this address as we do not have this information here at BCMS.

Can I view my billing information?

No. At this time the billing information is not available.

How can I obtain my medical record number if I misplace it?

Your Medical Record Number will be given to you along with your Enrollment Instructions. It is your responsibility to keep this number in a secure, safe place. Medical Record numbers will not be given out over the phone. If you need it again, you must come into the appropriate medical records department with the proper ID.

What if I need to schedule, reschedule or cancel an existing appointment?

If you need assistance with scheduling, rescheduling or cancelling an appointment, you must call the appropriate facility during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

What if I forget my portal login ID or password?

If you forget your login ID or password, click on the appropriate link, at the log in page, to reset this information.

What if I have non emergent questions regarding my health information?

Use the "Contact Us" for any non-emergent questions you may have regarding your health information. Please allow up to 72 hours for someone to respond to your question.
